Aadhaar at 1.44 Billion, eKYC Drives Financial Inclusion: India’s Aadhaar system continues to power digital identity at scale, with over 1.44 billion numbers generated. The eKYC ecosystem has transformed banking, with major public and private sector banks reporting significant reduction in onboarding costs and time. UIDAI continues to enhance security features, including biometric updates and OTP-based authentication for high-value transactions. 1

L2: Payments & Financial Rails

UPI Crosses 10 Billion Monthly Transactions, Global Expansion Accelerates: India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has achieved a significant milestone with over 10 billion monthly transactions. International expansion continues with live deployments in UAE, Singapore, Nepal, and Bhutan. The RuPay network has also expanded its global acceptance, with cards now usable in over 50 countries. NPCI reports robust growth in interoperable transactions, driving financial inclusion across tier-2 and tier-3 cities. 2

DigiLocker Hosts State Consultation Workshop: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) organized a Digital India State Consultation Workshop on March 23-24, 2026, focusing on solutions like DigiLocker, UMANG, API Setu, Meri Pehchaan, and myScheme. The workshop aimed to build a seamless, secure, and integrated digital ecosystem across states. EntityLocker, the B2B version of DigiLocker, was also highlighted for managing entity-related documents. 3

L4: Commerce & Logistics

ONDC Crosses 20.4 Crore Transactions, Ekart Joins Network: The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) has achieved a major milestone, crossing 20.4 crore cumulative transactions with over 1.6 crore orders in March 2025 alone. The network has onboarded over 7.6 lakh sellers and service providers, including brands like Amma’s Pastries, Haldiram’s Nagpur, and EverBake. Ekart, one of India’s leading logistics providers, joined the ONDC network in June 2025, enabling seamless logistics fulfillment for sellers across D2C, FMCG, Fashion & Lifestyle, and BPC sectors. India Post also joined ONDC in January 2026, leveraging its 155,000+ post offices for last-mile delivery. 4

L5: Sectoral Infrastructure

ABHA Crosses 86 Crore, NMC Mandates Health ID: The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) continues to scale, with over 86 crore ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts) created and 90 crore health records digitally linked. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has mandated ABHA ID for OPD, IPD, and emergency patients in medical colleges across India. Recent initiatives include AI-powered cancer screening integrated with ABHA, enabling early detection and digital health record linkage. 5

L6: Governance & Grievance

CPGRAMS Resolves 8,944 Grievances in Single Day: The Central Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) continues to demonstrate robust grievance redressal. On March 19, 2026, a total of 8,944 grievances were resolved across Central Ministries/Departments and States/UTs, with the Department of Financial Services (Banking Division) leading at 733 resolutions. Uttar Pradesh led states with 993 disposals. The portal maintains consistent performance, with February 2026 recording 25,069 feedbacks through the call centre. 6

DPDP Rules Implementation Accelerates, SC Hearing Pending: India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act continues its implementation trajectory with the 2025 Rules now in effect. The Supreme Court has issued notice on a petition challenging DPDP Act provisions, with concerns raised about exemptions for journalistic activities and Data Protection Board composition. Industry sessions on DPDP compliance are underway, with IFCCI and EY hosting business readiness workshops. The Act establishes penalties up to ₹250 crore for data breaches, with companies redesigning data collection, storage, and processing workflows. 7
