Revolut to Base 40% of Global Workforce in India by 2026: European fintech major Revolut announced plans to have approximately 40% of its global workforce based in India by the end of 2026, as it expands its India Global Capability Centre (GCC). The company committed £500 million (~$670 million) to its India business and GCC over five years in 2025, and will fill 1,600 roles in its India centre through 2026, taking its headcount in the country to 5,500 by year-end. India’s CEO Paroma Chatterjee noted that about a third of Revolut’s processes are now run from India, including routine transaction monitoring and AI-based alerts. Notably, innovations developed in India, such as video-based KYC systems, are being deployed across global markets to improve onboarding and operational efficiency. 1

PhonePe Dominates UPI Market in February 2026: Walmart-backed PhonePe continues to lead India’s UPI ecosystem in transaction volumes. In February 2026, PhonePe processed approximately 9.3 billion transactions worth roughly ₹13.1 trillion ($142 billion), compared with Google Pay’s 6.8 billion transactions worth around ₹9 trillion ($98 billion), according to NPCI data. PhonePe had put its IPO plans on hold in mid-March, citing geopolitical tensions and volatile stock markets, with investment bankers suggesting a valuation around $9 billion. 2

FSSAI ONDC Compliance Framework Update: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) order defining compliance obligations for e-commerce Food Business Operators under the ONDC model remains on track for the April 1, 2026 effective date. The regulation clearly divides responsibilities between Seller Apps (data accuracy, FSSAI license verification, product information, shelf life details) and Buyer Apps (display seller information, prevent expired products, provide digital invoices, enable complaint registration). Food products must have at least 30% shelf life remaining or 45 days before expiry at the time of delivery. 3
