Aadhaar App Crosses 21 Million Downloads — UIDAI reports that the new Aadhaar App has surpassed 21 million downloads in just three months since launch, with over 2.8 lakh mobile number updates and 6 lakh other service requests processed. The app provides a streamlined interface for Aadhaar-related services including enrollment, updates, biometric services, and document downloads. Source
Children’s Aadhaar Biometric Updates Made Free Until September 2026 — UIDAI has announced that biometric updates for children aged 5-17 years will be provided free of charge until September 30, 2026. This mandatory biometric update process at ages 5 and 15 ensures accurate identity records. The UIDAI has also clarified that Aadhaar cards do not confirm an individual’s date of birth. Source
New Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Jalandhar — UIDAI has opened a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Jalandhar to provide convenient Aadhaar enrollment, updates, and biometric services to citizens. The facility is designed to be citizen-friendly and accessible across Punjab. Source
L2: Payments & Financial Rails
NPCI Implements Daily Settlement for NFS and RuPay International Products — NPCI has implemented a revised settlement cycle where reports and settlements will now be generated and processed on all 365 days of the year, including Sundays and the 2nd & 4th Saturdays. Previously, settlements were not processed on weekends. This change, implemented with effect from December 13, 2025, applies to NFS DFS (Discover Financial Services) and RuPay International (iRGCS) products. Source
RuPay Credit Card on UPI Fully Operational — RuPay Credit Card on UPI facility is now fully operational with comprehensive FAQs and documentation available on NPCI’s website. Users can link their RuPay credit cards to UPI IDs through participating apps including BHIM, Mobikwik, Paytm, and Slice. No transaction limits have been set for linked credit cards, and users can perform transactions at all UPI merchants. Source

Digital India State Consultation Workshop in Meghalaya — The Digital India State Consultation Workshop was held in Shillong, Meghalaya from May 6-8, 2026, bringing together government departments to discuss digital governance initiatives. The workshop highlighted the role of DigiLocker in providing secure document storage and access, along with unified login through Meri Pehchaan and integrated services on UMANG. Source

ONDC and GeM Driving Digital Commerce Growth — India’s digital commerce ecosystem continues to expand with ONDC and GeM playing central roles. ONDC’s open network is facilitating seamless B2B and B2C transactions, while GeM procurement has reached new heights in FY 2025-26, with procurement figures touching ₹4,200 crore, significantly surpassing annual targets. ABDM Health Infrastructure Expanding — The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) continues to expand its health infrastructure network, enabling interoperability between healthcare providers, insurers, and patients. The ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) ecosystem is growing with increased adoption across hospitals, pharmacies, and diagnostic centers.

CPGRAMS January 2026 Report Shows 71,714 Grievances Received — The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) released the 42nd monthly CPGRAMS report for States and Union Territories for January 2026. During the month, States and UTs received 71,714 public grievance cases and redressed 64,702 of them. As of January 31, 2026, total pendency on the CPGRAMS portal stood at 178,674 cases. Karnataka accounted for 61% of grievances received via Common Service Centres (CSCs) in January. Source
CPGRAMS Integrated with Over 5 Lakh CSCs — CPGRAMS continues to leverage Common Service Centres for citizen access, with integration across over 5 lakh CSCs nationwide and support from approximately 2.5 lakh Village Level Entrepreneurs. This integration enhances access to grievance redressal services in rural and remote areas, with 14,094 grievances registered via CSCs in November 2025 alone. Source

DPDP Act Enforcement Timeline Confirmed — The Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act is on track for full enforcement by May 2027, with penalties of up to ₹250 crore per incident. The Data Protection Board of India became operational on November 13, 2025, and is now handling cases related to data protection violations. IRDAI updated its Information & Cyber Security Guidelines in April 2026, moving cybersecurity from an IT line item to board-level accountability. Source
