Aadhaar Authentication in Deepfake Scam: Gujarat Police busted an AI deepfake loan scam targeting social media users, arresting 7 individuals. The fraudsters used manipulated photos to obtain loans, with Aadhaar authentication used during the process. This incident highlights the need for stronger safeguards against AI-generated identity fraud².

PNB Launches RuPay Credit Card on UPI: Punjab National Bank partnered with Kiwi to launch the PNB Kiwi Credit Card on the RuPay network, targeting 180 million customers. The card integrates traditional credit services with digital payments, expanding financial inclusion for semi-urban and rural populations³.
UPI Transaction Milestones: India reached a historic milestone with 22.64 billion UPI transactions in March 2026, totaling ₹29.53 lakh crore — the highest single-month volume in history⁴.
