Digital Agriculture Mission Reaches 5.28 Crore Farmers
Layer: L5 — Sectoral (AgriStack)
Union Minister Ramnath Thakur informed the Rajya Sabha that the Digital Agriculture Mission has now reached 5.28 crore farmers across India. The initiative deploys AI, machine learning, blockchain, IoT, and robotics to modernise Indian agriculture. Key components include the National Pest Surveillance System for AI-powered crop protection, IMD weather advisories integrated into farm decision-making, and the BharatVistaar platform for geospatial agricultural data. States and Union Territories are being supported in implementing these technologies under the centrally sponsored scheme. This scale of farmer coverage represents a significant milestone in India’s push to build AgriStack — the digital agriculture infrastructure layer that aims to create farmer registries, crop sowing data, and a unified platform for agricultural services.

UIDAI Announces MyAadhaar Portal Maintenance Window
Layer: L1 — Identity (Aadhaar)
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced scheduled maintenance for the MyAadhaar portal from 25 July 2026, 19:00 hrs to 26 July 2026. During this window, online Aadhaar services including authentication, eKYC, and document downloads may experience intermittent availability. Separately, UIDAI continues to promote its Aadhaar App for free email ID updates — a facility available from 1 July 2026 through December 2026, using face authentication. The app also allows residents to book appointments at Aadhaar Seva Kendras directly, reducing the need for in-person queueing.

Telangana DGP Orders Statewide Crackdown on Digital Arrest Scams
Layer: L7 — Trust (Cybersecurity & Governance)
Telangana DGP CV Anand has directed all police units to launch an intensive crackdown on digital arrest scams — where fraudsters impersonate law enforcement to intimidate victims into transferring money. The DGP reviewed the state’s performance across nine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) monitored by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under MHA. Current rankings reveal gaps: Telangana stands 13th in e-Zero FIR implementation, 18th in money restoration (46.6% recovery rate), and 16th in cyber security standards. The DGP instructed officials to expedite e-Zero FIR rollout, maximise use of CCTNS for investigations, and launch statewide IEC campaigns on cyber fraud awareness.

FAIR Data Framework for Agricultural Data Gains Traction
Layer: L5 — Sectoral (Data Governance)
CABI (Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International) published a framework from New Delhi on turning agricultural data into actionable intelligence. The FAIR Process Framework, developed with Gates Foundation support under the ‘Enabling FAIR data sharing and responsible data use’ project, includes a Data Management and Access Plan (DMAP) to standardise how agricultural datasets are organised, shared, and used. The framework addresses a core challenge in AgriStack implementation: data exists but is often siloed and unusable. While not a government announcement, this work directly feeds into India’s Digital Agriculture Mission by providing the data governance layer needed for AgriStack’s farmer registries and interoperable agricultural data exchange.
